RAMBO–HIS FINAL BATTLE

THREE LIFE LESSONS ON HOW TO BEAT YOUR CANCER

(16 page booklet)

From the Introduction …

Albert Rambo served his country in Vietnam from 1967-1972. He was in the Army and, according to his personal testimony, carried out numerous special operations and assignments. On several occasions, he told me that his identity had been used in novels and/or Hollywood productions. While I cannot affirm nor deny such statements, I can attest that Rambo was a true survivalist and fit the Hollywood “Rambo” profile in many ways.

Upon returning from war and striking oil on his property, Rambo amassed gold, guns, food, and ammunition. He hid his stockpiles in secret rooms and passageways built into his house and on his property. He lived somewhat off-grid and kept his identity and whereabouts largely to himself. He earned a doctorate and taught political science at the local college. Those who knew him will readily admit, he was a remarkable person.

However, it was his battle with cancer that stands out in my mind as truly exemplary.

Thomas J. Baber (MDiv. The Master’s Seminary; DMin. Southern Baptist Seminary) is Senior Pastor of Emmanuel  Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas.
